Ablanket lockdown also imposed across entire India on Tuesday evening by the government to minimise the commotion at public places.

As the Covid-19 positive cases spike in India, the government and different companies have rushed to curtail the pandemic from spreading any further. The Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio has come forward to serve its users in a more effective manner. Jio has partnered Microsoft for a tool that checks symptoms of a user to figure out if the person should be tested for Covid-19.

The tool, called Coronavirus – info & tools, is available as a part of the MyJio app on both Android and iOS platforms.

Covid-19:

The symptoms checking tool takes a log of health inputs from the user, ranging from travel history to the severity of flu-like symptoms. And generates a report that determines if the user should visit the nearest hospital or lab for a test.

The tool is figuring out if the user has contracted coronavirus on the basis of the inputted data.

The tool also comprises guidelines from WHO and the Indian government. And what the user should follow for the protection against the virus.

Covid-19:

At the time of publishing, the Coronavirus – info & tools’ was showing up on both Android and iOS. However, it worked properly on Android only.

To use the tool, the user needs to tap on the banner that reads: #CoronaHaaregaIndiaJeetega. Redirect to a section inside the MyJio app where the tool available. Before the user begins with the process, there is some important information on coronavirus and Covid-19. Attached with it is a disclaimer also.

The symptoms checker has various profiles for whom this test is for – for yourself’, parent’, spouse’, child’, and someone else.’

Post that confirmation, a series of questions is presented on the screen with multiple options.

At the end of the checking procedure, the user will get a report. Apart from the checker, the MyJio app has also been added with the information of the test centres

There is a section dedicated for the statistics on the current active cases, cured cases. And the patients who succumbed to the disease caused by the pandemic.

A similar tool was recently launched by Apollo Hospitals on a dedicated website for Covid-19. The website has a similar set of questions that take the user’s information to analyse the chances of coronavirus infection. Some other medical start-ups have also launched tools on the same lines to help users amid the crisis.
